Job Description Part-time maintenance person 16 hours per week 4 days per week (4 hours per day) We seek self-motivated applicants, who possess good communication skills and can work unsupervised, as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school buildings and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. Click here to view the Position Profile. Key Responsibilities Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs Perform routine maintenance of equipment Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken Handle, store, and distribute goods/materialsMove equipment/furniture as required Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects Complete daily grounds maintenance reports Train new employees in groundskeeping duties Drive school vehicles as required. About The School Aspect Riverina School is situated in a beautiful inner city centre location with charming buildings and recently renovated facilities. The school proudly provides placement for approximately 100 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 17 from Albury, as well as from 4 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Albury and Wagga Wagga. Qualifications What we are looking for: Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team Excellent communication skills Trade background is desirable Current driver’s licence and use of own vehicle Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.
