Senior Systems Analyst – Library Systems Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde. Salary: $122,628 to $136,449 (HEW Level 8) + 17% employer superannuation + annual leave loading. Contract: 2‑year Fixed‑Term Contract. Type: Full‑time. The Role Macquarie University is hiring a Senior Systems Analyst to lead and support all aspects of technology consultancy, requirements analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of library systems solutions. Working closely with library staff, teams, committees and stakeholder groups, you will identify opportunities for improvements, oversee delivery of IT projects, and ensure on‑time, in‑scope and strategic alignment. Key Responsibilities Lead design, build, implementation, configuration and ongoing management of library systems, including integrated library management systems and related applications. Identify, assess and implement system and application enhancements to improve the library’s technological capabilities and services. Monitor and evaluate system performance, ensuring reliability, scalability and compliance with standards. Apply best practices in IT project planning and management – stakeholder engagement, risk management, change control. Support application lifecycle management: requirements gathering, testing, release management, monitoring, tuning and maintenance. Collaborate with library staff, committees and user groups to understand needs, gather requirements and provide consultative advice. Champion a client‑focused approach to service delivery, ensuring responsiveness, quality and continuous improvement. About You Tertiary qualifications related to the role or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development. Subject‑matter expertise in relevant business domain (e.g., student management, HR, finance), application platform (e.g., ALMA library systems) or technology stack (e.g., J2EE, .NET, LAMP, Ruby on Rails) supported by relevant certifications. Knowledge of IT service management concepts and experience applying them in an enterprise support environment across cloud and hybrid on‑premises configurations. Experience working with at least one SDLC methodology (e.g., DevOps, Agile, Waterfall, platform‑specific methodology). Practical application of business domain, application platform or technology stack in a complex business and IT environment. Demonstrated experience across key aspects of application support: requirements analysis, design, build, configuration, testing, change management, training, release management, monitoring, performance tuning, ongoing maintenance.
