Restaurant Manager (Casual - WEEKEND ONLY) Job Description – Restaurant Manager (Casual, Weekends Only) Badgers Brook Winery – Coldstream, Yarra Valley Badgers Brook Winery is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly organized Restaurant Manager to oversee our weekend restaurant operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, can lead a small team with confidence, and maintains exceptional attention to detail—especially in stock control, service standards, and event coordination. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of restaurant management experience. Position Overview The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for leading weekend restaurant service at Badgers Brook Winery, ensuring a smooth, high-quality dining experience for all guests. This includes managing staff, maintaining stock and supplies, coordinating with the kitchen, supporting events, and upholding the overall operational standards of the venue. You will be the key on-site leader during weekend operations, ensuring the restaurant and kitchen team work cohesively and efficiently. Australian work rights are required for this position. Key Responsibilities 1. Restaurant Operations Oversee day-to-day weekend service, ensuring smooth and professional operations. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards of the restaurant, bar, and outdoor dining areas. Manage table allocations, customer service flow, and any issue resolution. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards. 2. Staff Leadership Supervise and lead a small front-of-house team and coordinate with kitchen staff. Provide direction during service, including briefings, task allocation, and closing procedures. Train new staff on service standards, procedures, and winery expectations. Maintain a positive and professional team culture. 3. Stock & Inventory Management Oversee stock for restaurant supplies, wine, beverages, cleaning materials, and consumables. Conduct weekly stock checks and report shortages or replenishment needs. Record stock movements and work closely with management to minimize wastage and maintain cost efficiency. Ensure the kitchen and bar are fully prepared for weekend operations. 4. Event Support Assist in managing weekend events including weddings, celebrations, large group bookings, garden packages, etc. Coordinate layout, guest flow, and service delivery for functions. Communicate event requirements clearly to kitchen and FOH teams. Uphold the winery's premium event service standards. 5. Administration & Reporting Complete end-of-day reports on sales, staffing, stock usage, and any incidents. Monitor bookings via NowBookIt and help prepare the shift plan. Work collaboratively with the Winery Manager and operations team to improve processes. Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
