Overview Vinnies shops are a well‑established and much‑loved part of the Aussie retail landscape. Apart from being an op‑shop mecca for fans of all things quality and thrift, the shops generate revenue for a broad range of services that support the community. They may also be a first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance. Volunteer Role As a retail volunteer you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Responsibilities Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience Sorting and pricing donations Assisting with product display Processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register Keeping the store and sorting area tidy while maintaining safe work practices Desired Qualities Be a people person who is welcoming, encouraging and positive Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society Be respectful of others and flexible in attitude towards work and the team Have good time management and use initiative to get the job done Benefits of Volunteering Volunteering is a great way to interact with like‑minded people and build friendships.
