Education and Care Leader (Room Leader) Carrum FCC Join to apply for the Education and Care Leader (Room Leader) Carrum FCC role at Kingston City Council. Overview As the Education & Care Leader (Room Leader), you’ll lead a vibrant early years programme in a bustling room with 24 children per day. You will guide and mentor a large, experienced team of educators, fostering a positive, collaborative environment and ensuring smooth daily operations while delivering high‑quality education and care. Key Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and guide Early Years Educators, overseeing the work, leading, and mentoring a group of Early Years educators. Create routines and systems for effective daily operations. Manage administrative tasks: scheduling planning time, arranging breaks, liaising with parents, maintaining documentation, overseeing health management plans. Develop curriculum: plan, carry out, and assess the children’s learning within the educational program. Collaborate with leaders, coworkers, families, children, and the community to create a supportive learning environment. About You Minimum qualification: Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care with prior experience as a room leader. Experienced educator confident in leading and mentoring a team. Deep knowledge of Victorian and National Curriculum Frameworks, National Quality Standards and current regulations. Working with Children’s Check and Level 2 First Aid (Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR). Child Safety Kingston Council has zero tolerance for child abuse and follows strict Child Protection Reporting Protocols. The City has a dedicated Child Safety Officer who assesses all allegations.
