Come and join our award winning innovative PACER team working alongside Police and Ambulance staff caring for mental health consumers in the community setting. A fantastic temporary opportunity for flexible part‑time hours. The PACER Clinician is based within St George Community Mental Health Service (STG MHS) and will provide a highly mobile, recovery‑oriented clinical advice, consultancy and support to NSW Police (St George Local Area Command) managing mental health related cases in the community. The PACER Clinician is a response requested by an operational police unit and provides mental health intervention and undertakes triage, primary client assessment and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level. The position requires extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and demonstrated clinical practices to provide support, treatment, coordination and education to emergency services who work with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs. The successful applicant will be required to work a rotating roster of mornings, evenings and weekends. Selection Criteria Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award Current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; Registered Nurse with a minimum 5 years full time equivalent post qualification experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Mental Health with postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which they are appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.; Snr Psych with recognised 4 year degree in Psychology, along with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and min 8 years’ experience post full registration.
