Job Description About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Transmission Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team in Australia. The successful candidate will lead the preparation, coordination and submission of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of T&D infrastructure projects including overhead lines, substations, underground cable and related civil and electrical works. This role requires strong technical knowledge of T&D construction, excellent analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement and commercial teams throughout all stages of the tendering process in a multinational company. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of detailed cost estimates for T&D projects from early feasibility through to final tender submission: HV and EHV transmission lines, distribution networks, and/or substation infrastructure (typically 66 kV–500 kV). Analyse engineering drawings, design calculations, specifications, and tender documents to determine required cost elements. Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and external stakeholders to ensure cost‑effective and timely project delivery. Conduct feasibility studies, route selection, risk assessments, and constructability reviews. Ensure compliance with Australian standards (AS/NZS), National Electricity Rules (NER), utility guidelines, and safety regulations. Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations and vendor engagement. Contribute to business development efforts, proposals, and client presentations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in transmission and distribution sector. Knowledge of HV/EHV systems, including overhead line and/or underground cable design. Experience working with major Australian utilities, transmission network service providers (e.g., AEMO, TransGrid, Powerlink, AusNet, Western Power), or EPC contractors. Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail. Desirable Skills Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, ETAP, Candy, PLSCAD). Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
