Water Education Officer Join to apply for the Water Education Officer role at Central Coast Council Are you passionate about education and the provision of essential water services for your community? Do you love to engage and teach the community about important topics? We are currently searching for a new Water Education Officer to join our Water and Sewer Directorate. Responsibilities Develop and deliver effective water, wastewater and resilience education programs to improve the standard of living and quality of life for the Central Coast. Promote environmental sustainability principles and practices, raise awareness of Council's water supply system and increase community participation in current and future water projects. Build credible and lasting relationships with stakeholders, providing professional environmental management and education advice to influence outcomes for the better. Provide quality customer service and create value for the community. Qualifications A degree qualification in Environmental Science, Education, Communications or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in community education and or communication, combined with ongoing professional development. A current Class C Drivers Licence. A current Working with Children's Check. Experience in the development and implementation of lifelong learning and water education plans and programs, and knowledge of community and education principles and practices. Experience in engaging and consulting with a range of stakeholders including educational institutions, community groups and government agencies. Demonstrated knowledge of behaviour change and communication practices, including active communication with the community and business sectors. The ability to build strong, credible relationships with the ability to negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation. Salary & Benefits The commencing salary for this position is up to $100.k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $116.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation. We have a permanent full-time role available. This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight. We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions – 2 days from home and 3 days onsite. This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building. Long service leave after 5 years of continuous service. Free flu vaccination program. Time provided for you to do annual skin cancer screening, breast screen and blood donations.
