We are a microcosm of our country's health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment. Better and fairer care. Always. The Opportunity We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent's kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do. Reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer, Private Hospital Division, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated CEO to drive clinical and commercial performance of our New South Wales private hospitals. The CEO New South Wales Private Hospitals will bring extensive executive management experience with a collaborative inter‑professional approach, committed to elevating departmental capabilities, ultimately ensuring St Vincent's set the standard for patient‑centred healthcare outcomes. Oversight of nursing, allied health, peri‑operative, food, environmental, business office services, human resources, education, clinical risk, quality and infection control responsibilities to achieve established benchmarks and objectives. Close liaison and collaboration with Accredited Medical Practitioners to support their practice within our hospitals, and the care of their patients. Participate in, and implement the SVHA enterprise‑wide strategy for private hospitals in New South Wales. Promote and facilitate cross‑campus collaboration with St Vincent's Public Hospital Sydney, The Curran Foundation and The Friends of the Mater. Work with the Mission, Vision, Creed and Values of St Vincent's Health Australia, the St Vincent's Health Australia Code of Conduct, and ensure these principles are effectively integrated in all areas of responsibility. Provide leadership in supporting group‑wide formation programs to ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of the ministry and how the changing needs and environment of the healthcare sector may impact on the delivery of the St Vincent's Health Australia's mission. Lead and oversee the day‑to‑day management of the New South Wales hospitals by direct reports, particularly by fostering a high‑performance operating environment for the executive team for New South Wales private hospitals. Ensure New South Wales private hospitals achieve the highest levels of quality and safety in clinical performance, ensuring appropriate policies, training and development, performance measurement and management processes are in place. Take full responsibility for all safety matters and safety performance of the hospitals. In conjunction with the CFO, ensure New South Wales Private Hospitals operate within a robust set of financial and operational performance targets that represent an appropriate balance between current capabilities, acceptable performance standards and industry best practice. Effectively manage the cash flow of the hospitals to ensure all commitments both capital and recurrent can be satisfied in accordance with contractual terms. Build strong, collaborative relationships with Accredited Medical Practitioners to support their practice needs and enhance patient outcomes. Ensure New South Wales Private Hospitals always operate in compliance with the Catholic Health Australia Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia and relevant legislation.
