It is responsible for providing technical direction and oversight to ensure strict compliance with the company’s architectural vision and technology strategy across the backend development domain.Design innovative and fit-for-purpose solutions that solve business problems and adhere to our architecture and technology strategies.Leverage extensive experience to influence and own solution designs and development of our modern architecture.Stay up to date with relevant industry movements. Identify, validate, and endorse trends to be adopted into our operations.Take ownership of the evolution of our internal backend development practices, along with the evolution of applications within the area of remit.Help build out our CI/CD pipeline and AWS deployment infrastructure.Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile team, contributing to design, development, deployment, and support activities as required.What experience you’ll bringExtensive experience building, deploying, maintaining, and supporting microservicesExpert knowledge of JavaExpert knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Cloud Microservices frameworksExcellent knowledge and application of SQL and ORM technologiesDemonstrated experience identifying application improvement opportunities, proposing appropriate solutions, and driving business cases for endorsementExperience with technical documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, UML diagrams, user guides, and system documentationExperience using and configuring application and system monitoring toolsExtensive experience with AWS Developer Tools and ecosystem, as well as Cloud deployment with DockerAbility to work in the Atlassian suite of products: JIRA, Confluence, and BitbucketDrive best practice of software application security standardsAbility to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and implement techniques to influence non-technical audiences toward desired outcomesAbility to coach others and share expertise for the greater good of our people and businessAdvantageous:A background in financial services applicationsKnowledge of the IBM “I” platform and/or DB2Location
– Our head office is conveniently based in Toowong Village shopping centre – a city fringe location with access to retail, restaurants, various parking options and public transport.
