About The Role NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports many local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services. We are currently seeking Project Managers to join the Greater Sydney Region team working in the Parramatta Office. This office‑based role requires regular site inspections. You will be responsible for delivering one or more construction projects of low or medium risk and complexity, or may be assigned to a team managing highly complex projects. As a NSW Public Works Project Manager you will manage and contribute to the planning and delivery of building and civil infrastructure projects, ensuring time, cost, quality, safety and environmental targets and corporate expectations are met. You will also manage and administer design and construction contracts, including claims evaluation and negotiation. The role provides an exciting chance to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and participate in business development activities, contributing towards opportunities for repeat and new business. About You To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience of project management delivering construction contracts or managing design consultants, and you will possess the capability to foster business relationships. The following essential requirements must be met: Appropriate university qualifications in architecture, building, project management, civil engineering or similar related disciplines Demonstrated understanding and experience in managing the planning, procurement and delivery of building projects, office fit‑out projects or civil works Preferably 3–4 years minimum construction management experience or design management experience and the ability to work independently when required Contract management experience, including consultant or construction contracts and preferably GC21 and MW21 contract administration Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi‑disciplinary environment Strong relationship skills and the ability to influence positive outcomes and provide excellent client service Leadership qualities, sound reasoning and problem‑solving ability Strong self‑starting motivation and a desire to succeed A natural inclination to assist others and work in a team Effective computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) Proficiency in producing clear, professional written content and effectively utilising digital tools and platforms to support project delivery Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to travel if required Well‑developed knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations Employment screening checks, security or other clearances and health assessments Applying for the Role Apply by submitting a current resume and cover letter (maximum 2 pages) that outlines your skills and experience relevant to the role.
