Senior Exploration Geologist

About the Role We’re seeking an experienced and driven Senior Exploration Geologist (UG) to lead underground exploration and resource‑definition programs at the Pajingo Gold Mine. In this role, you’ll take ownership of drill program design and execution, geological interpretation, data quality, and the delivery of exploration inputs that support ongoing resource growth. You’ll work closely with the Exploration Superintendent, Resource Geology, Technical Services and site operational teams. This is a hands‑on technical role ideal for a geologist who thrives underground, enjoys leading programs end‑to‑end, and wants to make a meaningful impact on a long‑life, high‑grade gold operation. Lead key exploration and resource‑definition programs at Pajingo Work closely with drilling, geology, resource teams and management Strong pipeline of UG and surface exploration opportunities Stable and well‑established gold operation in North Queensland Opportunity to mentor junior geologists and influence exploration strategy Part of a supportive team with genuine career progression What You’ll Do Lead and manage underground drilling programs from design through to daily execution Deliver high‑quality geological interpretations, wireframes and drill targeting Ensure data integrity, QA/QC and database accuracy for all exploration activities Contribute geological inputs for resource estimates in line with JORC guidelines Support and assist with core logging, sampling and drill coverage when required Work closely with Resource Geology to define and grow the mineral resource Maintain exploration tenure compliance and positive relationships with stakeholders Participate in technical reviews, targeting workshops and planning meetings Support surface exploration programs when needed Mentor Exploration Geologists and contribute to continuous improvement What You’ll Bring Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Geology 5+ years’ experience in exploration AND underground mine geology Strong gold geology background Experience in delivering UG drilling programs Solid understanding of structural geology, alteration and gold mineralisation models Proficiency in geological modelling software (Leapfrog or Micromine) Experience with GIS (MapInfo/QGIS) Strong reporting, planning and problem‑solving skills High attention to detail, safety focus and ability to work independently Desirable: Resource geology experience Experience with QAQC and geochemical datasets Knowledge of QLD mining legislation and JORC compliance Postgraduate qualifications in gold geology Who You Are A proactive geologist who takes ownership of outcomes A strong communicator who works well with operations, drilling and geology teams A mentor and collaborator who builds positive working relationships Someone who thrives in a dynamic underground environment Apply Now If you’re ready to lead underground exploration programs at a long‑standing Australian gold operation and want to be part of a dedicated, high‑performing team, we’d love to hear from you.
