Trainer & Mentor – Remote Communities (Barkly Region, NT) Central Desert Native Title Services – Alice Springs NT Help build skills, confidence and opportunities for Aboriginal adults in their workplaces and communities. Why this role matters For more than two decades, Central Desert Training has partnered with remote communities to deliver culturally respectful and meaningful training. In this role, you'll support employed participants to strengthen their LLND skills, perform confidently in their roles, and continue growing in their workplaces. What this role offers you The chance to work across some of the most unique and culturally rich communities in Australia A role with purpose—help local people grow the skills that support long-term employment success Variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with employers, community leaders and participants Travel across the Barkly Region for approximately 35 weeks per year, with flexibility during non-travel periods A supportive workplace that values cultural awareness, respect and meaningful community engagement What you'll be doing Plan and deliver weekly LLND-focused workplace training and mentoring sessions for adult participants in remote communities, including both accredited and non-accredited learning depending on individual goals Adapt and tailor training resources to meet each participant's learning needs, strengths, goals and preferred learning styles Work collaboratively with Community Liaison Officers to engage participants, support ongoing attendance and strengthen program delivery Build strong relationships with local employers to understand workplace requirements and support participants to learn, grow and advance in their career pathways Support learners to progress through Core Skills training activities and mentoring / case plans, ensuring learning remains meaningful and relevant to their roles Maintain accurate training records, assess learner progress and report weekly outcomes in line with CDT procedures Contribute to the development and improvement of CDT's LLND resource materials, accredited content and broader professional practice About you We're seeking someone who is self-motivated, relationship-focused and committed to supporting adult learners to build real-world skills and confidence and support people to develop their career pathways. You'll thrive in this role if you : Have experience and enjoy working with Aboriginal communities—ideally in Central Australia Communicate with clarity, empathy and cultural sensitivity Are resilient, adaptable and confident travelling long distances Enjoy working independently and managing your own time Hold a current driver's licence and have 4x4 experience Can obtain (or already hold) a criminal history check and Ochre Card Hold a Training & Assessment qualification, or are willing to complete one soon How to apply Apply now with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining why this role is a great fit for you.
