We promote work‑life balance with flexible work options, including remote and hybrid work, a generous “work from abroad” policy, and you get your birthday off About the Team You Are Joining Reporting to the Area Manager, South West Pacific, the incumbent supports and executes IATA’s activities in the South West Pacific, delivering IATA’s agenda and achieving set objectives. What Your Day Would Be Like Work collaboratively to support the delivery of IATA’s agenda in the South West Pacific. Assist in building and maintaining proactive and professional relationships with member airlines, airports, government officials and other industry stakeholders. Support the Area Manager and team to promote IATA’s policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and products among stakeholders. Assist in coordinating local implementation of global projects, programmes and campaigns. Support monitoring and reporting of aero‑political, economic and commercial developments, recommending actions consistent with IATA’s policies and objectives. Assist in all areas relating to operations, safety, systems, external affairs and sustainability as needed. Support corporate fiscal, legal and regulatory compliance. Collaborate on commercial and business development activities, identify new commercial opportunities, monitor market trends and identify key customer profiles, competition trends and behaviours. Monitor and report on media developments and support coherent national communication strategies aligned with IATA’s objectives. Assist in organising IATA’s events, represent IATA at local and regional industry events, and support visits of senior managers and subject matter experts. Any other responsibilities as determined by the Area Manager. We would love to hear from you if You have a university degree in Aviation, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related discipline. An advanced university degree is an asset. Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least five years in a similar role. Sound understanding of government and regulatory frameworks. Well‑developed negotiation and lobbying skills and high cultural intelligence. Entrepreneurial flair with strong commercial acumen. Able to work in a small team environment. Sound knowledge of information technology systems and their applications. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French and other regional languages is an advantage. Must be able to legally work in Australia and hold appropriate residency or citizenship status.
