Ranging from HV Substations and Transmission Lines upto 500kV to power stations and wastewater treatment plants. If you are looking for a bright future and opportunity to grow your career, then join UGL – a great place to workUGL is currently looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Systems) to become a key member of the Power Utilities teams based in Sydney/Brisbane or Melbourne. You will be responsible for providing detailed designs, developing specifications and interface with management on design issuesAbout the RoleReporting to the Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Systems), the Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Systems) will be responsible for but not limited to;· Provide conceptual and detailed design of HV Substations up to 500kV for major utilities and renewables projects including BESS, solar and wind farms and also providing support on Transmission Line projects. Develop specifications and interface with management on design issues.· Plan and conduct professional engineering works· Attend site, supplier or customer premises to ascertain or confirm project requirements· Substation Configuration and Busbar Config (Single, double, 1.5CB scheme, etc.)· Plant layouts, sections, and details, Busbars and Connections (Fittings, Busbar Selection (Rigid, Strung), S/C Forces, Gantry forces, Sags/ Tension/ Deflection, Arrangement)· Clearances and Layouts (Safety, Fire, Transportation and Maintenance) / Underground Services (Trenches/ Conduits/Cable routes capacity) / Earthing design (Fundamentals, Soil/ Grid Testing, Current Splits)· HV cable design/Lightning protection study/EMF and Corona study/ Lighting design· Preparation of HV equipment/Buildings specification and technical particulars.· Insulation Coordination (SA Selection / Insulation Selection)· Fair Knowledge on BESS, Solar and Wind farms and their requirements· Fair Knowledge on system planning, fault calculation, Power quality and HarmonicsAbout You· 4 year degree qualification to Bachelor status in electrical engineering.· At least 6 year’s design experience in primary design of HV plants.· Fundamental understanding of primary design.· Details understanding of HV cable design, Earthing design and lightning protection.· Solid knowledge on insulation coordination, EMF and lighting design· Professional level knowledge of Cymcap, EMTP and CDEGS design software· Sound knowledge of HV and Solar farm equipment specification.· Basic understanding of secondary design aspects of HV plants, solar and wind farms.· Solid understanding of the interface requirements of the civil/structural aspects of HV substations.What we offer· Diverse opportunities to grow, back yourself and achieve· The chance to join a 6,000+ strong organisation owned by the CIMIC Group, one of the world's leading international contractors· Pathways for you to succeed and the space for you to carve your own journey· Competitive group remuneration and benefits including: health and wellbeing program with company-funded salary continuance insurance· A culture that values diversity and innovation, evolving with market changes and new technologiesWhat makes you right for UGL· Genuine concern for safety· Capacity to flourish in a high-performance environment· An innovative mindset and a willingness to challenge the norm· A belief that success and value are driven by real teams where everyone has a role to playAbout UsUGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within, rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets.
