Temporary Part Time clinical role with Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) in regional NSW. Up to 19 hours per week. Overview Are you a talented clinician looking to make a significant impact within regional communities? MLHD is seeking a motivated and passionate clinician ready for a new adventure. About the role: The focus is on young people with complex or high needs who may be difficult to engage in effective treatment and support. The aim is to guide the future management of these young people in primary health settings, provide evidence-based interventions or to facilitate referral to specialist settings where required. These young people may be exhibiting behaviour indicative of developing mental health problems (prodromal symptoms) that may be recognised by parents, teachers or other service providers, such as Drug and Alcohol services. Responsibilities Engage and support young people with complex or high needs who may be difficult to engage in treatment. Guide future management of these young people in primary health settings; provide evidence-based interventions; facilitate referral to specialist settings where required. Contribute to integrated and coordinated service models (headspace centres, CAMHS, hospitals and schools) to improve experience of care. Support reduction of unnecessary hospitalisations by facilitating timely access to targeted clinical care. Develop and use multiagency care plans to link providers across services involved in a young person\'s care. Provide enhanced support for families and carers of young people with severe mental illness. Prioritise populations including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people, CALD backgrounds, socio-economically disadvantaged, at risk of withdrawal from education or employment, trauma-exposed, or at risk of hospitalisation. Identified Outcomes Successful therapeutic engagement with young people experiencing or at risk of severe mental illness. Better experience of care through integrated service models with a focus on headspace, CAMHS, hospitals, and schools. Avoidance of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely, targeted clinical care. Active use of a multiagency care plan to coordinate care across multiple services. Improved support for families and carers of young people with severe mental illness.
