Caretaker – SPCC's new Adventure Education and Retreat Centre (Tharreo) Join to apply for the Caretaker role at Bendigo Advertiser. St Philip’s Christian College is a rapidly growing network of learning communities continuing its journey to deliver holistic Christian education that develops the whole child emotionally, intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. We are seeking a committed and versatile Caretaker to serve at our newly established Outdoor Education & Retreat Centre. This is a residential role, with housing on-site, offering a unique opportunity to live and minister within a vibrant, purpose-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Christian Ministry and Hospitality: embody and express the Christian ethos, create a warm welcoming environment, serve as a visible and prayerful presence. Site and Facilities Management: ensure facilities safe, clean, operational; coordinate external trades; perform minor repairs; oversee groundskeeping; manage daily security procedures. Guest Services: first point of contact for visitors; manage catering operations; assist with resource allocations. Administration and Bookings: manage booking systems; maintain accurate records; liaise with internal teams; coordinate logistics. Office and Operational Oversight: ensure compliance with procedures, WHS, SafeWork; collaborate with team; contribute to building Christian culture; maintain office supplies; assist with safety protocols. Essential Qualifications and Skills Personal commitment to Christian faith; alignment with SPCC mission. WWCC (current working with children check). Experience in building or property maintenance. Groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, team and culture building skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer literacy (email, booking systems, spreadsheets). Skills and Experiences A heart for Christian ministry and service. Experience in retreat, camp, or outdoor education settings. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Willingness to live on-site and be available for after-hours needs. Experience of group hospitality would be an advantage. Remuneration & Benefits Salary based on AIS Independent Schools PAOS MEA. On-site housing included with utilities and basic amenities provided.
