Machine Operator Day Shift

Surdex Steel is a member of the Southern Steel Group, a leading company in the steel industry. We are based in Shepparton and specialise in supplying steel solutions across the Victorian market. An excellent opportunity currently exists for an experienced Machine Operator to operate our Band Saw at our Shepparton warehouse. Working within a fast-paced environment the main duties include warehousing and distribution of steel products, operating a bandsaw and using forklifts. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday on day shift . To succeed in this role, you must have: Previous experience operating a Band Saw is desirable Previous experience working in a steel warehouse environment is preferred but not essential Knowledge of programming preferred but not essential The ability to read instruction and basic drawings, with basic understanding of maths and measurements A current forklift license would be preferred but not essential Overhead crane experience would be an advantage A proficient ‘can do’ attitude and honest work ethic Excellent communication skills both written and verbal The successful applicant will be joining a secure, reputable organisation in a permanent, full time position.
