Lead, Innovate, and Shape Our Molecular Diagnostics Capability A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Laboratory Scientist to lead our Molecular Biology team in a full-time, ongoing role. We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive professional with demonstrated expertise in assay development and validation, project management, and team leadership. Candidates must hold unrestricted Australian work rights to be considered. About the Role The successful applicant will oversee the daily operations of our molecular diagnostics laboratory, driving quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership capability, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to guide, mentor and develop high‑performing technical teams. Key Responsibilities Lead & manage the team, ensuring quality scientific output & operational efficiency Design, develop, optimise and validate in‑house molecular assays Oversee workflows including sample preparation, extraction, PCR, analysis & NGS Manage laboratory projects – planning, implementation, risk management & delivery Ensure compliance with NATA/ISO 15189 accreditation standards Champion process improvement initiatives, including Lean methodologies Collaborate across departments to support organisational growth, service expansion About You Hands‑on technical expertise in molecular diagnostics, including PCR‑based platforms, assay development and troubleshooting Demonstrated leadership experience within a molecular laboratory environment Strong understanding of quality systems and accreditation requirements Excellent communication, mentoring and stakeholder engagement capabilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead change initiatives Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science) or suitable equivalent is essential; post‑graduate qualifications will be highly regarded What We Offer A supportive, progressive, and forward‑thinking workplace Drive innovation and shape the future of our molecular diagnostics services Monday–Friday roster (full‑time, ongoing) Convenient location in Burwood with access to public transport and amenities Free on‑site parking is available If you would like to join the NutriPATH team, please submit your CV, an academic transcript of results and a cover letter outlining why you would love to join our team, using the Apply Now button.
