Electrical and Instrumentation Technician About Us GMB Water, a subsidiary of Mount Barker District Council, provides essential wastewater services and manages recycled and bore water supply for the community. The Opportunity The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will work closely with the Treatment Operations Team, reporting to the Team Leader Treatment Operations, to ensure we are providing a reliable, safe, and sustainable service to our wastewater, recycled water and bore water customers. You will also play a key role in ensuring we meet our level of service commitments and all regulatory and licence conditions. You will be involved in the construction and commissioning stages of our new treatment plant in Mount Barker and will ultimately be responsible for electrical and control system maintenance, small electrical projects, instrument operation and calibration across our asset base. The role encompasses a broad range of electrical control and instrumentation equipment across more than 30 sites. If you enjoy wide variety of work and complex problem solving, this role will be a perfect fit. You will also be involved in developing improved maintenance programs with the planning team and have valuable input to electrical, instrumentation and control system upgrades and renewals. What We’re Looking For Our ideal candidate will bring: Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and operation, preferably in the water treatment sector Trade qualifications in electrical and instrumentation fields Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Technical knowledge in SCADA systems and industrial automation systems Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Robust problem solving skills Why Join GMB Water? Participation in a rotating on-call roster and attending call outs is a requirement of this role, an on-call retainer and call outs are paid in addition to your base salary.
