Position Details Employment Type : Permanent Part Time and Temporary Part Time up to September 2026 Position Classification : Staff Specialist Requisition ID : REQ Responsibilities Provide high quality diagnostic, management and consultative specialty services in the Emergency Hospital in the Home service. Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the HITH Department and Hospital as required. Conduct clinical assessment and management of patients living at home in SLHD in liaison with partner hospitals, NSW Ambulance Service, Primary Health Network, Sydney District Nursing, Residential Aged Care Outreach, Access Care Team, Allied Health, general practitioner, and other related services. Deliver assessment and care in the community for frail older patients using equipped vehicles, working with paramedics, registered nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dieticians, pharmacists, social workers and other allied health practitioners. Accept patient referrals via NSW Ambulance call service, other medical specialists and general practitioners. Work across SLHD and second services proposed for Concord and Canterbury Hospital, rotating as required to cover leave and roster gaps. Provide encouragement of an academic environment supporting education, research and professional development. Qualifications & Experience Medical practitioner currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. Experience in emergency hospital or community-based specialty services preferred. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with community services.
