A leading Australian venture capital fund is adding an Investment Analyst as the firm continues to scale its investment team in Sydney. The firm is well capitalised, and counts some of the largest family offices & institutions as investors. About the strategy The fund backs early‑stage founders building globally scalable technology businesses across software, AI, digital assets, and frontier technologies. Investments are typically Series A to C, targeting companies with strong product velocity, clear market pull, and the potential to define new categories. The role You’ll play a hands‑on part in the full investment lifecycle, working closely with senior investors across sourcing, diligence, market analysis, and portfolio support. Expect strong deal flow across software, AI, frontier technologies, and digital assets, with the chance to build genuine investment judgement early. Key Responsibilities Source, track, and evaluate early‑stage technology companies across software, AI, digital assets, infrastructure, and frontier technologies. Support end‑to‑end due diligence across product, commercial, financial, technical, and founder assessment. Analyse emerging technology and digital asset markets to help shape investment theses. Build and maintain financial models, scenario analyses, and valuations for early‑stage companies. Prepare investment papers, insights, and materials for investment committees and internal use. Engage with founders, investors, and ecosystem partners to strengthen deal flow and market intelligence. Support portfolio companies through research, strategy work, and performance tracking. Contribute to internal research projects and thematic development around evolving tech and digital asset sectors. Ideal Profile Have 1‑3 years’ experience in investment banking, M&A, management consulting, VC, growth equity, or a high‑growth tech environment. Bring a strong interest in technology—particularly AI, emerging software models, and digital assets. Can translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial insights. Are naturally curious, analytical, and comfortable finding answers with limited data. Have strong financial modelling skills and an understanding of startup or token‑economics metrics.
