About the Department The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider and regulator, focusing on delivering first‑class customer service, digital transformation, and regulatory reform to create better outcomes for the people of NSW. Government Technology Platforms (GTP) forms part of Digital NSW and delivers core and common digital capabilities and infrastructure solutions, including cross‑sector leadership across NSW Government underpinned by the Digital Government Strategy. Primary Purpose of the Role Support the development and maintenance of commercial pricing models and frameworks for whole‑of‑government technology platforms and services. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate, transparent, and sustainable pricing and funding models, by applying commercial judgment, analytical rigour, and stakeholder engagement to influence cost recovery and investment decisions. Key Accountabilities Develop and maintain commercial pricing models for platforms and services, applying sound financial modelling techniques (e.g., scenario and sensitivity analysis) aligned to cost recovery and sustainable funding objectives. Collaborate with Finance, Partnerships and business stakeholders to inform pricing inputs, validate costing data, and deliver clear recommendations that influence pricing and funding decisions. Contribute to business cases and Treasury submissions by preparing consistent and defensible financial analysis that supports investment and funding proposals across the portfolio. Maintain and enhance governance frameworks for pricing methodologies, data sources, assumptions, and documentation to ensure standardisation and quality assurance. Undertake process improvement initiatives, including pricing system enhancements, master data clean‑up, and automation of reporting, to improve pricing accuracy and operational efficiency. Produce pricing insights, reports, and dashboards to monitor financial and service delivery performance, and support ongoing refinement of pricing models. Support internal capability uplift by sharing modelling techniques, pricing logic, and good practice in commercial analysis. What You Will Bring Advanced proficiency in using Excel and/or similar tools building robust and structured financial models, including cash‑flow forecasting, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and cost management. Experience using activity‑based costing, cost allocation and service unit pricing to support sustainable and equitable pricing decisions. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to work across finance, operations and executive stakeholders with competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to self‑manage workload and prioritise competing deliverables in a project‑oriented environment with tight timeframes and resource constraints. A continuous improvement mindset with experience in reviewing and refining financial processes and systems. Managing competing priorities and tight timelines across multiple initiatives, while maintaining rigour and accuracy in pricing models and advice. Delivering commercial pricing advice that balances financial sustainability, equity across agencies, and operational feasibility in an evolving and resource‑constrained environment. Working with ambiguity in funding arrangements, evolving service scopes, and dynamic whole‑of‑government priorities. Translating complex financial models and assumptions into practical pricing recommendations that are understood by non‑finance stakeholders. AI Statement The NSW Government is committed to ensuring the safe, ethical, and responsible deployment of AI across NSW. GTP embraces the use of AI to enhance productivity and creativity, but final submitted applications must be your own work. Application Process Click the link to submit your application.
