Based in Blacktown NSW, this hands‑on role is responsible for the day‑to‑day upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of our residential and commercial properties across the Metro Sydney portfolio. Reporting to the Property Coordinator NSW, you will carry out routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and support broader property operations. This role is ideal for someone with a trade background and practical experience in building maintenance, particularly in plastering and painting. About You You're a hands‑on problem solver with a strong trade background and a passion for keeping spaces safe, functional, and looking their best. You take pride in your work, whether it's patching and painting a wall or troubleshooting a maintenance issue on the fly. You're confident working independently, but you also thrive as part of a team that values collaboration and community impact. You're organised, reliable, and ready to roll up your sleeves—whether it's managing your own tasks or supporting others to get the job done. This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity based in Blacktown NSW within our Residential Care Program. The position reports to the Property Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plastering, and painting Inspect properties to ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards Operate and maintain tools and equipment, completing required safety documentation (JSA / SWMS) Assist with the coordination of external contractors Support the Property Coordinator and Service Desk Officers in maintaining the property portfolio Attend team meetings and contribute to collaborative planning Undertake other duties as required to support property operations What You'll Bring To be successful in this role, you will have : A qualified trade background (carpentry, plastering, or general building preferred) Demonstrated experience in property maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment Ability to assess maintenance issues, prioritise tasks, and work independently Strong organisational and time management skills Willingness to work collaboratively within a team Understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of issues affecting Aboriginal children, young people, and families Commitment to the mission and ethos of MacKillop Family Services For more information, please contact : Charlene Burnett on Our offer Hourly Rate as outlined in the Miscellaneous Award, dependent on qualification and experience.
