Your Role An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Accountant (School Support), from 19 January 2026 to 17 January 2027. This is a full time contract position for 40 hours per week. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional communication, engagement and technical skills, to support schools and colleges in managing their financial operations and supporting informed financial decision‑making. The role is based in Rockhampton, with some travel required. Typical Duties Training, supporting and providing advice to principals, finance officers / managers in schools and colleges in all areas of financial management; Supporting end of month reconciliation, reporting and analysis processes; Supporting the preparation and submission of school and college forecasts and budgets; Liaising with external auditors as required; Performing internal audit function for schools and colleges; Assisting with ensuring Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance in schools / colleges; and Performing other selected duties as directed by the Assistant Director : Business and Strategy and the Finance Manager.
