As the airport’s Operations Manager, your focus is purely operations, without runway maintenance responsibility - this is maintained by the RAAF Base Williamtown. You report to Head of Airport and work along side the Security Team, to deliver a seamlessly safe, secure, compliant and efficient operation. The Position Managing daily airside and terminal operations e.g safety, aircraft movement, ground handler compliance and passenger experience. Ensure compliance with all safety, security and regulatory requirements. Lead, motivate and develop a highly professional operations team. Provide input to operational and capital budgets. Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders i.e industry authorities, airlines and other industry partners including RAAF. Develop and implement crises and contingency planning to ensure operational continuity and minimise disruptions. Drive and deliver exceptional customer experience. Enable airport and operations growth through change management. The Person Minimum 2 years experience, in airport or aviation operations management. Current management in airside airline operations or ground handling services, will be well-regarded. Expert in aviation operation practices and procedures. Proficiency to interpret relevant aviation legislation and regulations. Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate and mentor large teams to achieve operational requirements. Experienced operational problem solver and decision maker. You will need to have Australian citizenship/residency and the ability to hold an ASIC card. The airport is located 30 minutes from Newcastle and is a major asset to both the region and the state, attracting predominantly tourism and business travellers.
