About The Role As Welfare Manager, you'll lead a team delivering welfare services to detainees, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to support. You'll drive compliance, oversee case management, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to uphold a high standard of care and service. Key responsibilities include: Leading welfare assessments, case planning, and service delivery Supporting vulnerable individuals and responding to incidents appropriately Managing reporting, documentation and stakeholder engagement Promoting an inclusive, respectful and safe facility environment Ensuring services align with legislative, policy and contractual obligations To be successful in this role You’re an experienced leader with a strong background in welfare, community services, or case management. You demonstrate empathy, professionalism and a calm approach in complex or high‑pressure situations. Key Requirements Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or Human Services Proven experience in team leadership and complex case management Strong stakeholder communication and problem‑solving skills Knowledge of legislation, ethical standards, and risk management First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain) Valid Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain) For a confidential discussion, contact @mtctrains.com.au.
