Early Childhood Educator-12 month Contract Primary role: Educator Position type: 1 x Fulltime position - 12 Month Contract commencing January 27th 2026 State: VIC About the Centre/Service: Isabel Henderson Kindergarten is a highly south-after nature-based community kindergartent who provides a language-enriched play-based program to support the holistic development of every child. We value diversity, equity and sustainable environmental practices as well as encouraging children to be active participants in their own learning. Situated within a large natural garden environment in North Fitzroy, Isabel Henderson Kindergarten offers flexible long-day kindergarten programs for 3- and 4-year-olds over 48 weeks of the year. The team recognises the importance of providing a rich nurturing environment that empowers children to become confident, involved and independent learners. The service recognises the importance of meaningful partnerships with families, which are paramount in creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all. Workdays of the Role: Shifts rotate on a fortnightly basis between opening (7:45am - 4pm), middle (9am-5pm) and closing (10am - 6pm). Applicants must be able to work a variety of shifts. Description: The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for contributing to the development, documentation and implementation of high-quality education and care. The position will work as part of a strong team to ensure kindergarten operations comply with relevant legislation, regulations, policy and procedures including direct supervision of children and the creation and maintenance of a safe and healthy kindergarten environment. Above award wages and planning allowance A positive, inspiring and highly collaborative work space Qualifications ACECQA Approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education or Children’s Services 2 years plus experience working within an early childhood education setting Proficient in English language - spoken and written A current HLTAID012 First Aid certificate including annually updated CPR certificate, asthma, and anaphylaxis certificates A current Working with Children check and a satisfactory criminal history with a willingness to complete a National Police Check.
