About the role As our new Software Developer, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing and maintaining our software systems. You’ll be working primarily on our ‘TrackR’ business application which is crucial in the management of our trains. The successful candidate will support timely coding, unit testing, integration, documentation, and release processes, while maintaining existing systems. Developers at this level handle day-to-day technical challenges and elevate when needed, applying entry to mid-level knowledge of V/Line products. Additional duties may be assigned in line with your skills and classification. About you Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Must have 3 + years’ experience working as a software developer in complex IT environments Demonstrated experience with SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodology, DevOps (CI & CD), SOLID principles, Domain-Driven Design Established experience with the following technologies: .NET Core 6.0+ C#, ASP.NET, MVC, CQRS Microsoft SQL Server programming (TSQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views) ORMs (such as Entity Framework, Linq2Db or Dapper) Containerisation (Docker, ECS, or other similar technologies) Web services standards (REST), Swagger / OpenAPI, APIs, message queuing and event streaming Must possess tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or other related fields Remuneration for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.
