Engineering Quality Lead

Excellent Salary + Benefits + Flexible work option A great opportunity to work with one of Australia's largest general insurers. Open to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane candidates – Hybrid / Remote working. Play a key role in designing quality systems from a reactive approach. About Hollard Hollard Insurance is part of the Hollard Group of Companies and one of Australia's largest general insurers in Australia and New Zealand. We underwrite a broad range of general insurance products, including motor, home, contents, business, bicycle and pet, in proud partnership with some of Australia's biggest consumer brands and broker businesses. As an independent and privately owned company, we believe we can go further together – for our people, customers, communities and partners – through an innovative approach to providing insurance. Our state‑of‑the‑art facilities in North Sydney reflect our commitment to providing innovative workspaces that support hybrid and remote work. Your Team You’ll join a Test, Environment & Release Practice team that encompasses testing for Hollard Business, Agency Partners and Software Vendors. The team is responsible for the testing of processes and systems to support Agency Partners in managing their Insurance portfolios across the Quote, Policy and Claims functions. Your Role As a Quality Lead, you will deliver the testing and quality assurance elements of a fast‑paced Digital workstream. You will be pivotal in ensuring that Hollard’s testing processes, standards and communications meet quality, reliability and performance standards by designing quality systems, conducting tests, analysing data / metrics, and identifying areas for improvement. As an Engineering Quality Lead, you will lead the migration from a reactive, manual‑based testing approach to a proactive and automation‑based approach. You will provide leadership across onshore and offshore colleagues, working as one of the leaders in Hollard’s quality assurance area. Your Duties and Responsibilities Prevent quality issues from occurring rather than just finding them after they happen – exposure to resilience and availability processes to help identify areas that quality can address. Collect and analyse metrics / data from the development and test processes to provide insights and recommendations for improvements. Develop strategies and implement solutions to enhance product quality across the entire lifecycle, not just during the testing phase. Integrate quality practices into development, working with developers to build quality into the software from the start. Select appropriate automation tools and scripting languages based on project needs and provide technical leadership to the automation team. Your Knowledge & Experience Demonstrated experience in automated and manual testing including exploratory, system, integration, end-to-end & user acceptance testing. Experience with the full software development life cycle. Experience with automated test tools, including designing, developing and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, like Selenium, UI Path, Cypress, Playwright etc. Experience leading testing in an Agile or Waterfall project, defining test cases, executing complex scenarios and managing the defect lifecycle as required. Proven ability to identify, document and elevate quality gaps, process inefficiencies or potential risks in the development lifecycle to stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and defect prevention. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services is highly desirable. Working at Hollard At Hollard, you’ll discover an environment where you can truly make an impact. We offer the best of both worlds – the opportunity, agility and creativity of a company growing with scale, alongside a focus on becoming a catalyst for enduring, positive, social change. We’re a tight‑knit team where authentic voices and unique perspectives matter. We work supportively, collaboratively and inclusively to shape our future and create shared value for our communities. Hollard proudly promotes flexible work including remote work, non‑traditional work patterns and work‑family balance. We are committed to creating a workplace that values diversity with a true sense of inclusion, actively seeking to hire for a range of lived experiences including disability, ethnicity, faith, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, gender diversity, sexual orientation, age and neurodiversity. We are building something special. Working closely with our industry partners to reshape insurance for the better, we’re people changing insurance.
