Overview Our client is a respected boutique accounting firm located in Melbourne’s inner east. The practice services a select portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, professionals, and private investors, offering expertise across SMSF, tax compliance, and business advisory. The team is collaborative, client-focused, and committed to professional excellence. The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior SMSF Accountant to take on a key role within the firm. With approximately 200 high-quality SMSFs under management, the firm is seeking a capable professional who can deliver technical compliance while also enjoy the opportunity to delve into business advisory/ services engagements (i.e. non-SMSF) . The successful candidate will be trained for team supervision responsibilities , with a clear development pathway and mentorship from experienced leaders. You will also work alongside an established offshore team to ensure efficiency in compliance delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end SMSF compliance, including financials, tax returns, and audit prep Work directly with HNWI clients and their advisors to deliver tailored solutions Contribute to the firm’s business advisory projects (this is a core part of the role) Review work completed by junior and offshore team members, providing feedback and support Stay abreast of industry developments, ensuring best practice standards are upheld Assist in managing workflows and supporting the broader SMSF team’s operational needs About You 4-5+ years’ experience in SMSF accounting within a public practice setting CA/CPA qualified or close to completion Proven experience managing a portfolio of SMSFs Strong interest in business advisory work Professional and articulate communicator, comfortable dealing with high-calibre clients Eager to step into a leadership role and help mentor junior team members What’s On Offer Structured career development into a Supervisor position Involvement in both compliance and advisory - a broad, rewarding scope of work Flexible hybrid working model Exposure to a premium client base of HNWIs and professionals Supportive leadership, collaborative team culture, and strong staff retention Modern systems and streamlined workflows, including offshore team support Click on the ‘APPLY’ button or contact Jill Yeoh on / We are committed to providing a supportive culture and positively contributing to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces for our candidates & clients.
