Procurement Specialist – Public Sector People Public Sector People are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to provide hands‑on, end‑to‑end procurement expertise across goods, services and works. This is a 3‑month contract starting ASAP with remuneration £60‑65 per hour plus super. This role is central to delivering compliant, value‑for‑money sourcing outcomes while strengthening the Council’s centre‑led Procurement Framework. Key Responsibilities Plan, manage and deliver end‑to‑end sourcing activities (RFQ, RFT, EOI), including market research, documentation, evaluations, negotiations and contract award. Coordinate complex and high‑profile tender processes in line with NSW local government legislation and Council policies. Prepare high‑quality procurement documentation, including specifications, evaluation plans, pricing schedules and recommendation reports. Provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders on procurement pathways, risk, probity, conflicts of interest and negotiation strategies. Support forward procurement planning, procurement pipelines and status reporting. Support category management initiatives, supplier performance monitoring and benefits tracking. Essential Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a procurement specialist role within a complex organisation. Strong experience in competitive tendering, quotation processes, probity and governance. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent sourcing activities and meet deadlines. Experience reviewing and improving procurement strategies, systems, templates and frameworks. Proficiency with electronic procurement systems (e.g. eTendering, vendor management, contract registers). Experience in NSW local government or the public sector – highly desirable.
