Expression of Interest – First Aid Officer (South Coast Urgent Response) Position: First Aid Officer Business: South Coast Urgent Response Location: Wollongong, South Coast & Greater Sydney, NSW Type: Casual | Event-Based (Sports, Festivals & Community Events) About the Role South Coast Urgent Response is seeking skilled and reliable First Aid Officers to provide medical support across a wide range of sports events, festivals, and community activities throughout Wollongong, the South Coast, and Greater Sydney. This casual, event-based role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are confident in responding quickly and professionally to injuries in fast-paced settings. Key Responsibilities Provide immediate first aid to participants, spectators, and staff during events. Assess injuries and determine the appropriate treatment or escalation to emergency services. Set up and pack down first aid stations, ensuring all equipment is ready for use. Monitor high-risk activity areas and proactively identify potential hazards. Maintain accurate incident documentation and communicate effectively with event coordinators. Work independently or as part of a team, depending on event size. Deliver calm, reassuring support in busy or high-pressure situations. What We’re Looking For Current First Aid and CPR certifications (HLTAID011 / HLTAID009). Experience providing first aid at community events, sports environments, or similar settings (preferred but not required). Strong situational awareness and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Availability for weekend and evening shifts based on event scheduling. Occupational First Aid (HLTAID014) and basic pain-management skills are recommended but not essential. Candidates without these qualifications are still encouraged to apply.
