Your day in the life of a Privacy Specialist at Optus Assist Optus in handling personal information inline with our privacy obligations and the expectations of ourcustomers and team Carry out Privacy Impact Assessments to enable Optus to mitigate privacy risk arising from initiatives involving personal information Deliver practical and pragmatic privacy guidance to support and enable our teams and their initiatives Manage privacy incidents and advise on best practice remediation recommendations Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs Support uplift activities in line with developing Privacy Act reform and technology advancements including AI Assist with the smooth functioning of the Privacy Office on a day to day basis, supporting other members of the Privacy Team as required. The skills you’ll bring to Optus Proven expertise in privacy law and regulations, specifically the Privacy Act, and ideally the Telecommunications Act and Telecommunications Interception Act Ability to conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and provide commercially relevant recommendations Experience in managing privacy incidents and implementing prevention strategies Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice on complex privacy matters Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively work with a range of audiences Experience in developing privacy education, awareness and training materials, promoting a compliance privacy culture across the organisation Strong analytical skills to identify critical compliance issues, write and review policies, and develop mitigating controls.
