PCYC NSW is seeking a State Participation and Recreation Manager to elevate the quality, consistency and growth of our participation‑based activities. You’ll provide the strategic direction, operational structure and leadership that enables our Clubs to deliver exceptional recreational programs—supporting young people, families, and local communities across the state. About the role Reporting to the State Business Development Manager, the State Participation and Recreation Manager is responsible for overseeing program design, performance, and delivery of key recreational activities across PCYC NSW. You will work closely with Club Managers, Operations Managers and State Support Office teams to ensure our recreational offerings are safe, consistent, high‑quality and community‑focused. Lead the implementation of strategies that grow participation and enhance member experience. Translate strategic goals into operational plans, KPIs, reporting frameworks and performance metrics. Develop and maintain Tool Kits that support consistent delivery of recreational and sporting activities. Support Clubs with program planning, activity margin control, and revenue growth strategies. Drive lead generation, sales and retention initiatives for recreational programs. Oversee coordination, design and evaluation of PCYC School Holiday Programs. Grow and enhance PCYC Birthday Parties and related participation products across the state. Guide Clubs in identifying new opportunities and community needs. Build strong relationships with community partners, suppliers, educational institutions and government bodies. Support staff capability through training, onboarding, mentoring and development initiatives. Work closely with Marketing to promote key programs and support local area marketing efforts. Ensure all activities comply with PCYC policies, Child Protection standards, and health & safety requirements. Provide timely reporting on participation metrics, program outcomes and activity performance. We have sixty‑six clubs and eighteen OOSH services across NSW, with a vision for significant growth. Our aim is to engage with and positively influence over 70,000 youth members through mainstream sport, recreation, education, leadership, and cultural programs. We also work with at‑risk youth to break the cycle of disadvantage through crime prevention, vocational education, youth capacity building, and social responsibility programs to enhance the life direction and outcomes of over 7,500 youth per year. About you You’re a proactive and strategic leader with proven experience in sport or recreation program management. You thrive in community‑centred environments and enjoy supporting teams to deliver engaging, high‑quality activities. Strong alignment with PCYC NSW’s values: Respect, Community, Integrity, Commitment, Resilience. Tertiary qualification in Business, Sports Management or a related discipline. Proven experience leading sport and recreation programmes across multiple sites. Demonstrated success in program design, stakeholder engagement and service excellence. Experience supporting and developing staff across varied locations. Strong communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software. Experience collaborating with community groups, schools, government and/or sporting bodies. Current Working With Children Check. Willingness to travel across NSW as required.
