Lakeview Senior College Lakeview Senior College is located in the rapidly developing suburb of Caroline Springs, approximately 20 kilometres west of Melbourne. It is a government secondary school educating students from Years 10 to 12. The College has a student population of around 955 in 2023 and offers an extensive selection of subjects at each year level, enabling every student to pursue a learning pathway tailored to their individual needs. The learning environment is focused on high expectations, academic excellence, and the promotion of a broad range of academic and vocational training courses, including VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) and VCE‑VM (Vocational Major). The College partners with the Melton and Brimbank clusters of schools to provide a wider variety of VET (Vocational Education & Training) courses. Modern facilities—including interactive whiteboards, a fully equipped sports centre, gymnasium, community library, and playing fields—support the development and growth of students in a safe and engaging environment. Courses for Young Adults Year 10 students study a broad range of subjects that best prepare them for final two years of schooling. Year 11–12 students select either a VCE or VCE‑VM course, enabling them to undertake both academic and vocational training. Partnerships with local clusters expand opportunities for students to access vocational education and training. Pedagogical Understandings Learner‑centred classrooms focussed on meeting individual learning needs through flexible, multi‑use learning spaces and ICT facilities. Strong emphasis on self‑assessment, goal setting, and focussed teaching. Use of Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) to facilitate collaboration between teachers and external learning providers. Selection Criteria Qualifications and/or experience in social work, youth work, psychology, or a relevant community health or welfare field are required. Understanding of common approaches, policies, programs, and research relating to student wellbeing case management. Experience delivering student (young adult) and family wellbeing services in a relevant setting, preferably with schools. Demonstrated experience in coordination of services and provision of information, support and consultation. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with a wide range of people within education and the wider community. Role The position involves management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. It requires cooperation of other staff members to achieve objectives across school administration, operations, and educational programmes. The role will have some latitude in determining how targets are achieved, with guidance required for deviations from standard procedures and school policy. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality case management and support to Lakeview students. Keep thorough and extensive case notes to create transparency and accountability. Implement procedures and policies on the wellbeing of students. Collaborate with school staff, student support services, and external agencies to develop and implement programmes and interventions that foster resilience, improve attendance, and respond to identified needs. Increase awareness, understanding and skills of staff regarding student wellbeing, as outlined in the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO 2.0). Work as a key member of the College Wellbeing Team to ensure uniformity of action and purpose across the college. Collaborate with the Assistant Principal, Student Engagement & Wellbeing, team leaders, and year level coordinators to support student learning.
