YOUR NEW ROLE
The role is responsible for the management of security risk, event and security planning, including information and reporting protocols. The role also contributes to the preparedness and resilience of security, emergency, crisis and recovery planning arrangements, within the department and across the House.
The role will also provide advice on the development and implementation of measures against the increased threat environment, emergency procedures, operational matters, team performance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

ARE YOU THE ONE?
Key Responsibilities/skills:
- Experience developing and implementing complex security and emergency plans and strategies, including major event planning and the delivery of high profile security and safety services for VIP / dignitaries and in liaising with outside agencies and emergency services, including crowd management experience.
- Experience in the planning and delivery of business resilience planning and management.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (such as security / emergency management, counter terrorism, business continuity and/or fire and life safety management); or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Security Industry Act 1997 and Sydney Opera House Act and By Laws.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with external business partners, agencies and emergency services (e.g. presenting / business partners, NSW Government, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), Australian Federal Police, NSW Police, Fire & Rescue NSW and other Emergency Services).
- Demonstrated experience in incident reporting, statistics, records management and investigation, including report writing, procedure and policy development and documentation experience.
- A valid WWCC clearance.
