A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. We are One Peninsula Health. What You Will Be Doing The Acute Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (2 West) is a 29 bed unit based at the Frankston Hospital. Peninsula Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is committed to the principles of Recovery Orientated Practice. It aims to provide timely and equitable access to a quality service, and actively supports and encourages consumer and carer participation in all aspects of planning and delivery of mental health services. The catchment area includes the former local government areas of Frankston, Chelsea and the Shires of Mornington, Flinders and Hastings. The Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse (PEN) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for patients and their families / carers. The PEN works as part of the specialist mental health nursing team, under the supervision of a RPN. The PEN monitors the impact of nursing care and maintains ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse regarding the health and functional status of individuals. At all times the PEN retains responsibility for their actions and remains accountable in providing delegated nursing care to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care.
