BWC is a owned Company located on the south-side of Brisbane. Operating for over 40 years, we specialise in retaining wall construction, bulk earthworks, transport and mining for the civil construction industry. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Estimator to join our team and assist in developing and implementing new estimating procedures and systems, and support the continued growth of our business. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to manage all quotes, tenders and submissions for our projects in both Queensland and New South Wales. Working closely with the Operation and Construction Managers, you will work to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. This role would suit candidates currently working as a Civil Engineer or experienced Site or Project Engineers seeking an alternate career path in the civil construction industry specialising in retaining and bulk earthworks. Regular travel to project sites will be required. Key Responsibilities: Management of all quotes, tenders and submissions Review of tender documentation including specifications, construction drawings and contracts Completing quantity take offs Preparing detailed time and cost estimates for tenders/projects Preparing project budgets and cost tracking files on awarded projects Sourcing subcontractors and suppliers and obtaining relevant quotes and pricing Managing pre tender negotiations Closely monitoring results of tenders and implementing a tender register Managing the handover between tender award and project start up with the Construction and Operation Managers Contract Administration and Management including budget management, documentation and record keeping Skills and Expertise: 5+ years experience in estimating within a civil construction environment Ability to problem solve quickly and adapt to change Demonstrated experience in first principles estimating Demonstrated ability in preparing quality tender submissions for civil construction projects including bulk earthworks Proven understanding of construction methodologies including earthworks and structural landscaping Ability to develop, implement and manage systems and processes relating to estimating and tenders Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers High level of computer literacy particularly MS Excel Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing tasks Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or similar is required Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
