Role Description Siena College is seeking to appoint a Cello Teacher to teach private and small group lessons, and to direct a string ensemble. This casual position commences in Term 1, 2026. The current enrolment projection is approximately 6 hours/1 day per week, depending on new enrolments and applicant availability. Working within the Siena College Music Department, the Cello Teacher will be part of a team of instrumental specialists. Our string programme has seen exciting growth in recent years, and the successful applicant will be well‑positioned to build on this. Responsibilities Teach junior and intermediate cello students through to VCE Music Direct a string ensemble and plan appropriate programmes of repertoire Develop students’ musical understanding through the study of repertoire Inspire students’ long‑term participation in our instrumental and ensemble programmes Prepare students for solo and small‑group performance opportunities Assist with basic instrument maintenance and record‑keeping Assist with various concerts and events throughout the year Qualifications and Requirements VIT Teacher Registration or a Working with Children Check and National Police check are required before commencing the position. The successful candidate must have the relevant rights to work in Australia.
