About the Role Spend your day making a positive difference. Our support staff provide emotional, social and practical support to people with Autism and their families, to increase opportunities for them to live the life they choose. Children and young people may need our assistance before and / or after school, at weekends or during school holidays. Adults can need help with day to day activities, this may be through building social connections through sport or community groups, assisting with the development of daily living skills or enhancing job readiness skills. The people we support live in various suburbs across the greater Perth metro area. About You We are looking for people with ongoing availability to work 10 hours or more per week, as well as opportunities for overnight support on a regular or ad hoc basis. We need people with an engaging and supportive approach, who understand that each person is different and have the confidence and passion to empower others to achieve their goals. Our staff come from varying backgrounds; if you are currently working in the disability industry or in an education setting, if you are studying an Allied Health subject or have lived experience of supporting individuals with Autism and share our passion, we would love to hear from you Qualifications Commitment to supporting individuals' needs and goals Resilience to undertake new challenges Experience working with or lived experience of supporting people with disabilities Good verbal and non‑verbal communication skills Sound decision making and problem solving skills Full driver’s licence (No P plates) Completion of required clearances including a medical, National Police Clearance and NDIS Workers Screening Check Benefits Coaching and mentoring from an experienced and supportive team Extensive training, growth and development opportunities Competitive salary reflecting your skills and experience Flexible working hours with an ongoing roster Access to generous salary packaging options Discounts to a wide range of products and services such as gym access, meal boxes and health insurance About Us The Autism Association is one of Australia's largest for purpose specialist autism service providers, providing a range of services to individuals of all ages.
