2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants We are seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to support and enhance technology infrastructure within the public sector. This temporary role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems. Client Details This opportunity is with a respected organisation within the public sector. The company is a medium‑sized entity, well‑regarded for its contribution to advancing technology solutions and maintaining operational excellence. Description Undertake the provisioning, maintenance, security hardening, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data, storage) systems infrastructure Participate in 2nd line IT incident and security response capability for network infrastructure Produce design, automation scripts, technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions Improve, harden, test, implement, monitor and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues Manage the analysis of network traffic data and provide recommendations on performance and security improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment Occasional scheduled work at our Business Resumption Site at Bella Vista will be required Work with cyber security team to improve Bank's protections and remediate vulnerabilities Profile Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in Cisco and ITIL Strong knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) Strong experience with Firewalls Cisco and/or Palo Alto and applicable management tools such as Cisco Security Manager (CSM) Strong expertise with network tools such as Cisco DNA Centre Strong expertise with F5 (LTM, GTM and BIGIQ) and SD‑WAN Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, taking full ownership and accountability for assigned tasks and milestones Strong communications (data/voice/video) infrastructure experience Strong experience in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation Strong experience or willingness to learn: Python and relevant scripting languages to automate activities Good general knowledge of IT infrastructure and service management practices Good working knowledge or willingness to learn Network management tools like Stat seeker and Infoblox Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders Nice to haves: Experience in Cisco SDDC and Cisco storage fabric management and SD‑WAN A working knowledge of Venafi and VMWare products Job Offer Opportunity to work on impactful projects within the public sector Chance to collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in the technology department Supportive and professional work environment If you are a skilled Senior Network Engineer looking for a temporary opportunity in the public sector, we encourage you to apply today To apply online please click the 'Apply' button below.
