The housekeeper plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming space for residents, supporting both their physical comfort and emotional wellbeing. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, this role involves performing a variety of cleaning and laundry duties, assisting with the movement of furniture and bins, and helping to keep household areas tidy and organised. A key focus is partnering with residents to take part in daily household tasks, promoting their independence, choice, and sense of purpose. The housekeeper also follows infection control, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards, ensuring all equipment and chemicals are used safely and correctly. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as the role involves engaging respectfully with residents, families, staff, and volunteers. Through this work, the housekeeper contributes to a caring and supportive environment where residents can truly feel at home. You work well in a team and are committed to providing a customer‑focused service. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience in cleaning and using chemicals. Previous experience working with food. Experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Key Competencies: Ability to manage demanding workloads and adapt to changing priorities. Strong comprehension, attention to detail, and time management. Personable with empathy and enjoyment in working with older people. Ability to engage residents through a person‑centred approach. Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health principles. Teamwork and commitment to quality, customer‑focused service.
