Overview Join the Provider of Healthcare Services to Public Prisons across Victoria. Multiple positions at various locations are available. About the roles The Medical Practitioner will provide and supervise medical care to prisoners by delivering and evaluating medical programs and medical services required and/or provided. The Medical Practitioner coordinates hours of service and on-call responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services. Locations and Salaries Langi Kal Kal Prison, Langi Kal Kal - 0.4 FTE, 4 days per fortnight - $120,000 per annum + Super Metropolitan Remand Centre, Truganina - 0.1 FTE, 1 days per fortnight - $30,000 per annum + Super Western Plains Correctional Centre, Lara - 0.6 FTE, 6 days per fortnight - $180,000 per annum + Super based on Full Time Ravenhall Correctional Centre, Ravenhall - 0.2 FTE, 2 days per fortnight - $60,000 per annum + Super For more information in relation to these roles, including the key accountabilities, please click the following link: Position Description Medical Practitioner Skills and Experience The ideal candidates will have: Medical practitioner currently registered by the Medical Board of Australia (from 1 July 2010). Documentary evidence of medical indemnity insurance. A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience. High written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team. Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care. Willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position. Computer skills relevant to the role. Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol and emergency care. (Desirable) Other Requirements Valid Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel between locations. Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare. Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
