Job Title Teacher – Special Education (Campbell House School) Location Glenfield, Sydney Region Positions 2 positions available (Full‑time equivalent 1.0 each) Remuneration Up to $153,253.00 annually. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer’s superannuation contribution. Higher rates may be available depending on experience. School Information Campbell House School is a School for Specific Purposes located in Glenfield, supporting 63 students in Years 7–12 from across South West Sydney. The school provides intensive learning support for students with diagnosed mental health conditions (ILS‑MH classification). Most students come from low socio‑economic backgrounds, with 20–35% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 15–32% living in statutory out‑of‑home care. Students have normal cognitive ability but require support due to emotional, behavioural, or mental health needs, and many have experienced disrupted schooling. The school delivers a differentiated mainstream curriculum focused on literacy, numeracy, and vocational skills through trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and restorative practices. Small classes, high staff‑to‑student ratios, and access to specialist and wellbeing staff ensure personalised pathways for every learner. Partnerships with Hilltop Schools, TAFE, local businesses, and community agencies enhance learning and transition opportunities. The School Excellence Plan prioritises growth in literacy and numeracy, high‑quality teaching, improved attendance, transitions, and wellbeing practices. Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex mental health, behavioural difficulties, autism, and emotional disturbances. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and differentiate quality teaching and learning programs, monitor and evaluate student progress to improve learning outcomes. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills; capacity to work collaboratively and inclusively to build positive relationships with students, staff, parent/carers, and external agencies. Commitment to whole‑school wellbeing programmes, with a strong emphasis on trauma‑informed practices, effective classroom practices and behaviour management strategies. Demonstrated involvement in proactive whole‑school programmes to enhance the wellbeing, engagement, and attainment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
