Power Generation Operator Maintainer

Run Energy Pty Ltd is a service provider in the renewable energy sector with over 30 years of experience in providing operating and maintaining power generation facilities across Australia. We specialise in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy infrastructure, including solar, wind, and gas-fueled systems. We are seeking a skilled and motivated qualified electrician to join our team to operate and maintain solar and gas‑fueled power generation facilities between Darwin and Katherine, Northern Territory. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy, a strong technical background, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and operate the performance of the power generation facilities and maintain operational efficiency. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on solar farm and gas‑fueled electrical systems. Conduct electrical repairs, troubleshooting, and fault diagnostics on solar panels, inverters, and associated electrical equipment. Conduct corrective maintenance on gas‑fueled generator sets Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities. Report on operations performance, compliance, and production results. Ensure compliance with Australian electrical standards and safety regulations. Coordinate with technical teams and contractors to ensure optimal functionality. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance. Respond to breakdowns and system faults in a timely manner. Work in accordance with company health and safety protocols. Be flexible with work hours and willing to work in hot/dry conditions. Be on‑call (on a roster) for emergency outages Qualifications and Experience: Licensed and qualified electrician with relevant Northern Territory Electrical Licensing. High Voltage Operator and Switching qualification desired. Valid driver's license Experience in solar farm operation & maintenance or large-scale renewable energy projects is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and related solar farm infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical specifications. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations, including isolation procedures, risk assessments, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience with SCADA systems and monitoring platforms is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote locations. Minimum 1-2 years of electrical experience required. Skills and Attributes: Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a remote environment and adapt to challenging weather conditions. Good electrical and mechanical aptitude and understanding of power generation facilities.
