Environmental Assistant (50D) role at GOLD FIELDS Gold Fields is committed to improving employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We have an exciting new role in our Environment Team at Granny Smith Gold Mine and are looking to share with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people interested in progressing their career in this area. The Role You’ll help the Environment team ensure the mine meets its environmental obligations, including: Environmental monitoring – collecting and sending water and soil samples for testing. Keeping records and entering data. Doing environmental inspections around the mine. Using drones to take pictures and collect imagery. Managing waste, including recycling and landfill. Helping with fauna handling and pest management. Supporting the Pastoral Officers on Mount Weld Cattle Station. Working with other departments on environmental issues. Getting involved in projects such as land rehabilitation, seed collection, and topsoil mapping. Work Schedule 8 days on, 6 days off. Fly in and out from Perth, or drive from the Goldfields area. What We’re Looking For Experience in the workforce, preferably in mining or completing fieldwork. Able to work outside under different weather conditions and remotely. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office). A valid manual driver's license.
