Department of Government Services – Melbourne VIC About us The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. About the role The Cyber Threat Intelligence analyst role contributes to the success of the Victorian Government Cyber Incident Response Service (CIRS). The role undertakes proactive and systematic collection and analysis of information and cyber threat intelligence to provide stakeholders with high-quality advice about new and emerging cyber security risks affecting the Victorian Government. The position develops reporting and data insights by analysing cyber threats, vulnerabilities and cyber incidents. This intelligence informs incident investigations, programs of cyber security work, and decision making across Victorian Government. This is a varied and fast paced role that requires intermittent after-hours work both as part of an after-hours ‘duty officer' roster and during significant cyber incident and emergency situations. About you To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: Experience and aptitude for intelligence activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessments using a range of information and technology within a sensitive and confidential environment. Preferably, within a cyber security environment. Experience in leading intelligence operations for government, including working with the Australian Intelligence Community. Understands the current global cyber security environment, emerging trends and relevant issues. Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results. Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills. Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department. Mandatory requirements The ability to successfully acquire and maintain a NEGATIVE VETTING 2 level security clearance in Australia (requires Australian citizenship). Participation in an on-call roster and the ability to perform intermittent after-hours work in response to cyber security incidents or issues.
