Independent Technology Consultants Cooperative Pty Ltd – Tullamarine VIC CONTRACT ROLE, 6 MONTHS Our client is looking for a senior solution architect with application design experience who has worked within large and complex enterprise environments, with at least ten years of experience defining and delivering ICT strategies, application roadmaps, and technology solutions. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of application architecture, integration design, data flows, and system interoperability, as well as strong knowledge of architecture frameworks, governance models, and design methodologies such as TOGAF and ITIL. Experience working across enterprise platforms, databases, middleware, and infrastructure is essential, combined with a proven ability to engage senior stakeholders, business leaders, and delivery teams to achieve architectural alignment and adoption. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills are required, and relevant qualifications in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison between business functions and technical delivery teams, ensuring clear understanding and alignment of requirements. Design and deliver application and integration architectures supporting key business initiatives across multiple technology domains. Define use cases, solution patterns, and reference designs to guide best practices and ensure consistency across solution delivery. Establish and contribute to governance frameworks for architecture reviews and solution approval processes. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery and operational transition. Lead and participate in Proof of Concepts and innovation activities to assess emerging technologies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ICT subject matter experts, and industry partners to ensure alignment of solutions with technology strategy and standards. Meet deliverables within tight time constraints whilst maintaining expected quality standards. Ensure compliance with technology standards, security policies, and architectural principles. Translate business and technical requirements into effective, sustainable solutions that align with operational and strategic goals. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, market trends, and vendor capabilities, assessing their potential impact on the businesses application landscape. Participate in the Technology Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, providing architectural oversight and impact assessment. Conduct risk assessments and design mitigations, providing expert advice on technical and integration issues. Experience and Qualifications 10+ years’ experience in solution architecture or application design within large and complex enterprise environments. 5+ years’ experience in defining and delivering ICT strategies, application roadmaps, and technology solutions. Deep understanding of application architecture, integration design, data flows, and system interoperability. Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks, governance models, and design methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL). Experience working across enterprise platforms, databases, middleware, and infrastructure. Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, business leaders, and delivery teams to achieve architectural alignment and adoption. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
