Principal Developer x 3 Contract to 28/06/2026 | Brisbane CBD + WFH We are seeking three experienced Principal Developers to lead the ABAP custom code compliance and optimisation efforts for a major SAP S/4HANA conversion project within a Queensland Government department. This key role requires deep SAP HCM expertise and adherence to modern "clean core" principles. Key Responsibilities S/4HANA Conversion Lead: Lead analysis, modernisation, and optimisation of the ABAP code base for SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA conversion, specifically focusing on HCM (Human Capital Management). Clean Core Development: Undertake system development and implementation of custom components using SAP’s clean core principles and methodologies. Standards & Quality: Lead initiatives to establish new design standards (aligned with SAP's low-code approach), provide technical advice, and perform quality reviews on code, standards, and specifications. Technical Consulting: Interpret business requirements, offer expert advice on system implementations, and ensure new functionality aligns with SAP best practices. Business Rules: Participate in the specification and development of business rules necessary for system implementation. What We’re Looking For Experience: Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in large, complex SAP implementations. SAP HCM Expertise: Proven experience in the support and development of large-scale SAP HCM Solutions (ECC6 and preferably S/4HANA). HCM Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in HCM areas: Organisational Management, Payroll (preferably Australian), HR/FI/Co integration, Time Management, and ESS/MSS Fiori Apps. Technical Stack: Extensive experience in SAP ABAP programming and workbench developments. Modern SAP: Good knowledge of current technical trends: S/4HANA, Fiori, SAP clean core development principles, and flexible SAP workflow.
